Mr. Harari serves as Phenome Networks’ Executive Chairman since 2013. He has been active in the agro-tech and seed companies for many years. Mr. Harari is a co-founder of NewBreed Ltd., a vegetable seeds company. He was the former Executive Chairman of Milouda Laboratories (sold it to Merieux NutriSciences) and former executive at Markstone Capital, a $ 800M Private Equity fund. At Markstone, he acquired Zeraim Gedera, has been an active board member and sold it to Syngenta. Mr. Harari was a board member also at Keter, Steimatzky and Magnolia Silver Jewelry. Prior to his role at Markstone Capital, he was the chief financial officer at Satlink Communications – a leading provider of transmission solutions for video, audio and data over satellite platforms, fiber optics and IP. Before this role, he was the head of economic department at D.B.S Satellite Services – the Israeli multi-channel pay TV via satellite. He was also part of the team that established the company from scratch. He holds a master’s degree in Economics from Bar Ilan University.


Dr. Semel is the company’s CEO. In 2008, Yaniv Semel was working on a Ph.D. in genetics in Prof Dani Zamir’s lab. He wanted to develop a system that would combine analytics with plant breeding and genomics. This is how Phenome Networks was established. Dr. Semel also holds a B.Sc in Computer Science from Ben Gurion University and has published several research articles about applying a systems approach to complex phenotypes.


Prof Zamir is a Professor of Plant Genetics at the Robert H. Smith Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Environment at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. His research focus is the genetics and breeding of tomato, lisianthus and fragrant roses. Through the use of mapped exotic genetic resources, marker-assisted selection and positional cloning his university based lab explores genomic assisted methods to improve crop breeding. In 2008 he established Phenome Networks together with Yaniv Semel and his lab uses the platform on a daily basis.


Mrs. Stern is leading the company’s commercial activities. Prior to joining Phenome Networks, she worked 10 years at Syngenta and Zeraim Gedera as a Senior Business Analyst and before that 7 years as a software programmer in Amdocs. Mrs. Stern lead and participated in many projects in Seeds R&D to improve and computerize internal business processes and to design new solutions for breeders, variety testers, product developers, laboratory members, seed producers, technicians and more, she has in depth understanding of internal processes and software solutions used in seeds companies R&D. Mrs. Stern holds a bachelor degree from the Tel Aviv University.


Ms. Felder has over 16 years of experience as a Certified Public Accountant. Previously Ms. Felder served as a senior manager at PWC Israel (Kesleman & Keselman) and was responsible for auditing large public companies traded on the TASE and US Stock Exchanges, including  SEC filings, SOX procedures, taxation reports and IPO procedures. Currently Ms. Felder serves as an active director on the board of directors of several public companies traded on the TASE and NASDAQ. She is also a professor of accounting at the College of Management, Academic Studies, School of Business Administration.

Ms. Felder holds a CPA degree from 2008 and a master’s degree in Finance from the City University of New York.

André Goig, Member of Phenome Networks' Advisory Board


Top-level business executive at the very crossroads of the seed and crop protection industries, who has led major businesses in both industries on global and regional level over a span of three decades, mostly at Syngenta and its predecessors.

In his last role at Syngenta, André was overseeing its EMEA Seed and Crop Protection units.

André obtained a degree in Economics from ISG Business School in Paris before attending various advanced Executive Education programs at Harvard University and Northwestern University.

He is a Board member of ESA (European Seeds Association) and of EuropaBio (biotech industry at the EU level), as well as the Chairman of its Agri-Food council.

Jean-Michel Meunier II


Industry veteran with 42 years of experience in seed businesses across 50 countries and 3 major seed groups, in regional and global roles for R&D as well as Marketing.

In the last 18 years, he was with Sakata; and in his last role at this global vegetable and ornamental seeds company, Jean-Michel was leading all R&D activities in EMEA. He was driving the implementation of plant breeding software as a transformative project and leveraged the entrance of genomics into traditional breeding, the fields where Phenome Networks is active.

Jean-Michel completed his education in Agronomy, Statistics and Genetics at the Engineering School in Dijon, France. He also studied Marketing with Dr. P. Kotler and Dr. R.G. Cooper.

He is a Member of the UFS (French Seed Association) and a Representative of the French Seed Industry at CTPS (Technical Committee of Variety Registration).
